JUST IN: Tension in Takum as Gunmen invade community, Scores killed


News reaching Rhapsodi Affos Blog RAB, has it that tension has mounted as a result of shooting in Takum LG of Taraba state as gunmen invade the town.

The gunmen suspected to be Tiv militia invaded the town at about 9:00 and started shooting sporadically at  Takum main
around Almasihu church angwa mbakpa.

RAB gathered that 2 vechiles were burnt but  the number of casualties are yet to be known as at time of filing this report. The police is also yet to confirm the incident as the Police Public Relation Officer, Asp. David Misal has not picked all the calls by our reporter.

On Thursday a Catholic priest, Rev. Father Tanko was killed and set ablaze on his way to Takum for a peace talk and since then, both Tiv and Jukun ethnic group have been trading blames though the killers are yet to be identified.

 There have been a lingering crisis between the TIV and Jukun for the past 3-4 months which has led to the death of many and destruction of properties worth millions.
